New Construction · From the Drawing Board

Every great yacht begins as a single line.

An existing yacht is someone else's compromise. A new build is yours — drawn, specified and supervised stage by stage, with one honest voice protecting your interests the whole way.

Independent by Design

We answer to you. Never to the yard.

Most new-build "advisors" are paid by the shipyard. We are not. Flackton is independent of every builder — so the yard we recommend is the one that's right for your yacht, never the one writing us a cheque.

The right yard, honestly chosen. We tender openly across the world's proven yards — Northern Europe, Italy, Turkey, and wherever your brief leads — and the independent designers to match. Chosen on merit, not on who we know.

Your money, watched. Stage payments, change orders and the inevitable overruns — scrutinised by someone whose only client is you.

Complete confidentiality. Your project, your identity and your specification stay between us — start to delivery.

Paid by you, not the yard. A transparent project fee, agreed up front — with monthly owner reports and a principal present at every key milestone.

We don't sell you a yacht. We help you draw one.

A new build is the most personal thing you will ever commission — and the most demanding. Three years, a thousand decisions, a shipyard on the other side of every one of them. Our job is to turn your idea into a vessel, and to stand on your side of the table from the first line to the last.

The Build Sketch to Christening
01

Vision

We start with how you'll use her — not how she'll look. The brief comes before the line.

02

Naval Architecture

Hull, volume, performance and the general arrangement that make the idea float.

03

Yard & Contract

We help you tender to the right shipyards and hold the contract to your interest, not theirs.

04

Specification

Every system, surface and cabin — designed and specified before steel is cut.

05

Supervision

We appoint and answer for the site surveyor and the specialists. A principal is on the file from first brief to christening, and present at the milestones that matter.

06

Sea Trials

Speed, noise, vibration, systems and class — proven at sea before you sign.

07

Delivery

Handover, warranty, flag and crew — and a broker still there after the christening.

KYMERA 50

A 49.9-metre that spends the year at sea, not the year at anchor. Drawn in our own hand, from the numbers, so every line answers to something.

Under 500 GTBy design, not by accident
01

One line, stem to stern

A single shadow line runs her whole length, then lifts aft to become the roof of the sea terrace. Structure forward, shelter aft, one gesture.

02

Three decks, not four

The fourth deck is what pushes a yacht this size past 500 gross tons, into SOLAS and a much heavier crew and certification burden. We stopped at three on purpose.

03

The foredeck is a room

Not a helipad. A sunken, sheltered space forward of the house, using the volume the near-plumb bow recovers instead of throwing away.

04

The transom belongs to you

Tenders launch to the side, so the stern is free. The bulwarks fold down and the garage becomes a terrace at the waterline.

KYMERA 50 is a Flackton concept study. No hull exists and no yard is committed: she is a starting point we would develop with you, and take to the yards best suited to her, on your terms. General arrangement, specification and yard shortlist prepared on enquiry.

For Brokers & Agents

Bring us the build. Keep your client.

New construction is where boutique beats big. Your client doesn't need an account manager for three years and a thousand decisions — they need one honest advocate in the shipyard. Refer the build and we work to a written agreement, signed before we ever speak to your client — your terms agreed up front, your relationship protected, the supervision handled by a principal who answers the phone. You bring the build; we keep your name on it.

Begin a Commission

Tell us the yacht in your head.

A sketch, a reference, a feeling, a brief — however formed your idea is, we'll tell you honestly what it takes to build it, and whether you should. No obligation, complete discretion.

A new build is the biggest, most personal thing you'll ever commission. I'll tell you honestly whether it's the right move — and if it is, I'll be in the shipyard with you.— Vassilis · Flackton Yachting
