Sold with Flackton representing the seller and Fraser the buyer — the mirror of the Ulysses deal, and the same partnership at work on the other side of the table.
Sales, charter and the state of the market — filed from Nicosia, in plain English.
The 39.4-metre Mondomarine Ulysses changed hands in May 2025, with Flackton introducing the buyer and Fraser representing the seller — a boutique Nicosia house closing at the very top of the market, alongside one of the largest superyacht brokerages in the world.

Another sale closed and announced from Nicosia. Wishing her new owner smooth seas and the very best for the adventure ahead.

Closed and announced in summer 2022 — owner and price kept private, as the seller asked.

“We are pleased to announce the sale of Anamel. Wishing the new owner smooth seas and the very best for his new adventure.”
With one of the largest charter fleets on earth — around 3,000 vessels — Greece now takes roughly 40% of the world's summer superyacht charter bookings. The East Mediterranean isn't a market we dabble in; it's home water.
Greece runs one of the largest charter fleets on earth — on the order of 3,000 professionally-crewed yachts — and in a typical summer the country draws roughly 40% of the world's superyacht charter weeks.
For an owner or a charter guest, that scale is the whole point: depth of choice, crews who genuinely know the waters, and an itinerary that can change with the wind rather than with the brochure.
The pull is geography. From a base in the Cyclades or the Ionian you can reach a dozen islands in a week without a single long open-water passage — Mykonos and Santorini for the well-known evenings, the Sporades and the Dodecanese for the quiet ones, the Ionian for green, sheltered cruising. The season runs comfortably from May into October.
Cyprus sits at the eastern edge of the same world — a practical staging point for the Levant and a respected EU flag, which we cover in our regulation notes.
We won't pretend every week is magic. The boat, the crew and the dates decide that — and we'll tell you plainly when a particular week isn't worth the money.
Brokerage sales rose roughly a fifth in 2025, while listings swelled to near a fifth of the fleet — more choice, and softer pricing on used tonnage under 45 metres. A good year to buy well, with an honest read on condition and price. (Figures approximate.)
The brokerage market firmed up in 2025 — reported sales volumes rose by roughly a fifth over the prior year, even as the number of yachts listed for sale climbed toward a fifth of the active fleet.
More boats on the market, and more realistic sellers, is good news if you're the one buying.
The softness is clearest in used tonnage under about 45 metres, where supply is deepest and asking prices most negotiable; larger and newer yachts have held their value better.
"A buyer's market for the patient" is the operative phrase. The good deals go to owners who do the unglamorous work first — a proper condition survey, a sober estimate of refit costs, and a price anchored to comparable sales rather than to the seller's hope.
That is exactly where a broker on your side earns the fee. We'll tell you what a boat is actually worth — and when the honest move is to walk away.
The flagship superyacht show returns to Port Hercule, opening the autumn sale-and-build season. If you're buying, selling or commissioning, come with a plan — we'll help you build one first.
The Monaco Yacht Show returns to Port Hercule from 23 to 26 September 2026 — the calendar's flagship gathering, and the unofficial start of the autumn sale-and-build season.
In four days, a year's worth of new launches, central-agency brokerage listings and shipyard slots are shown in the water, in real visiting conditions. For a buyer it's the most efficient walk-through of the market you'll get all year; for an owner weighing a sale or a new commission, it sets the tone for the season ahead.
Our advice is simple: don't go to browse. Go with a shortlist, a budget, and a clear sense of what you want the yacht to actually do. We'll help you build that brief beforehand — and, if it's useful, meet you there.
Since late 2023, commercial yachts over 35 metres under a non-EU flag can charter in Greek waters through the e-Charter Permission — no Greek company required. A quiet rule change that reshaped where big yachts spend the summer.
For years, chartering a large yacht in Greek waters effectively meant flying an EU flag or setting up a Greek company. That has changed.
Under Greece's "e-Charter" framework, commercial yachts over 35 metres registered under a non-EU flag can now be licensed to charter in Greek waters through a digital permission — without forming a Greek company. The change opened the door to far more of the world's large charter fleet.
It's part of why Greece's share of the charter market has held up: a non-EU-flagged yacht can base a Mediterranean season here in a way that simply wasn't practical before.
This is a recognised route, not a loophole — it carries conditions on size, commercial registration, tax and crewing, and the paperwork has to be exactly right.
Honest caveat: this is general guidance for 2026, not legal advice. Thresholds and procedures change, and the detail depends on your yacht and flag. We confirm the live position in writing before you rely on it.
Greece's cruising tax (TEPAI) is charged by the metre; charter VAT runs around 13% on charters over 48 hours. The headline rate is never the whole invoice — we set it out in full before you commit, never after.
The price of a charter week is never just the price of the yacht. In Greece, two line items catch people out.
TEPAI — Greece's cruising fee — is charged by the metre of length for the months a yacht spends in Greek waters. It's predictable, but it's a cost to budget for, not to discover on arrival.
Charter VAT in Greece runs at a reduced effective rate of around 13% for charters longer than 48 hours that begin in Greece; other cases can attract the standard rate. The exact treatment depends on the itinerary and where the charter starts and ends.
Then there's APA — the advance provisioning allowance for fuel, food, berths and the like, usually set as a percentage of the charter fee. Add it up and the "all-in" number can sit well above the headline price.
Our rule is the same one you'll find on every page of this site: we set the full cost out before you commit, never after. No surprises on the final invoice.
Cyprus offers a respected EU flag and real structuring advantages — but the old fixed-percentage VAT scheme is gone, replaced by EU-compliant, use-based rules. Anyone still quoting a magic low number is out of date. Ask us for the current position.
Cyprus is a serious flag state — an EU register, a competitive tonnage-tax regime for commercial vessels, and a long-established maritime administration. For many owners it's a credible, respectable home for a yacht.
What's gone is the old shortcut. For years Cyprus was sold on a famously low "effective VAT" on yacht leasing — a fixed percentage that simply assumed most of the use happened outside EU waters. The European Commission pushed back, and that fixed-percentage scheme has been replaced by use-based rules that have to reflect where the yacht actually sails.
The practical upshot: the structuring advantages are real, but anyone still quoting a magic low VAT number is working from an out-of-date playbook. The right figure now depends on genuine use — and on getting the paperwork right.
Honest caveat: general guidance for 2026, not tax or legal advice. We'll give you the current position and point you to the right specialists where you need them.
